HackerRank

To stop myself from getting rusty I wanted to pick up some programming challenges during my down time.

I found this excellent website named HackerRank which uses a web version of most programming language IDEs which allows you to attempt many different challenges of varying difficulty in pretty much any language.

Completing challenges earns you badges on your profile which you can then use as evidence of your work, you can view my profile here.

Tinkering with VR

So this June I have been able to try out my friends HTC Vive and a new game that goes along side it, Beat Saber.

This game was so much fun I began inspecting how the maps and content were formed and found them to be made from simple JSON files alongside .ogg music files. This meant I could create my own custom maps without much hardship, so I did!

I learned about music timing, game development, and got to enjoy using VR for the first time doing this and will undoubtedly be doing more in the future. You can download the maps I created at these links:

Edit - The mod for beat saver is no longer maintained, these links no longer work. Sorry!

Namie Amuro - Hide and Seek

Two Door Cinema Club - Undercover Martyn

Breaking Benjamin - The Diary of Jane

This is the latest reincarnation of my personal website, taking advantage of Github’s free hosting with Pages and Jekyll.

On here you will find some information about me, my career and any projects I have been working on. I’m always adding more, so be sure to check back now and then!
